Enrolling now for "RHYTHM 'N' BLUES" and "CLASSIC ROCK" qualifications
10 week styles courses start the week commencing 5th May. Students can choose between two units: -
"Rhythm 'n' Blues: Developing Stylistic Technical & Performance Skills For The Electric Guitar"
Learn to play real Rhythm 'n' Blues. This course covers the influential guitar styles of T-Bone Walker, B. B. King, Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton and more... including essential stylistic techniques (string bending, slides, vibrato etc), chords and rhythms, scales, licks and solos, listening and appreciation. So if you're fed-up of playing up and down your minor pentatonic scale and thinking "Man, That ain't the Blues!" then this is the course for you.
"Classic Rock: Developing Stylistic Technical & Performance Skills For The Electric Guitar"
Learn to play authentic Classic Rock. This course covers the influential guitar styles of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and more... including essential stylistic techniques (string bending, slides, vibrato etc), chords and rhythms, scales, licks and solos, listening and appreciation. So if you wanna "Make It Real" enrol at the "School of Rock" NOW!
Both units lead to a Level 3 (equivalent to A-Level) qualification and can be taken on a one-to-one (10 x 30 minute lessons) basis or as part of a Masterclass (group of 3, 10 x 1 hour lessons).
We recommend that students study the "Rhythm 'n' Blues" unit before progressing onto "Classic Rock".
Prospective students will be required to attend a free assessment at Wigtoft prior to having their place confirmed. If you are a current student please ask your tutor about suitability at your next lesson.

Chicago blues clubs
When we visited Chicago a few years ago, we went to a couple of the blues clubs. Really good entertainment. The club venues themselves are fairly basic and there is a bar and food being served in the background. But lots of talented musicians just get up and play, sometimes sets sometimes improvising. Does anything similar exist in UK?
